Ford V-8 Wheel and Tire (click to enlarge) Olympus E-M1, 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO lens @ 34mm; 1/640th sec. @ f/5.6; ISO 200 |
When initially looking at this image in Lightroom, something just seemed a bit wrong. After looking at it for a while, I came to the conclusion that there was too much color for this old, weathered subject matter. Looking at the original color palate as produced in my Olympus E-M1 (set on Natural), the colors just wouldn't do this scene justice. So, I played with reducing the Vibrance slider a bit until the image looked like I felt it should—old, weather beaten, decaying and abandoned.
To me, this image makes the case for me that less is more. Less color means more reality.
Thanks for looking. Enjoy!
