Fuel Anyone?

I was wandering the countryside, going nowhere in particular, just looking to see what interesting things I could discover.  I posted some images in my last two posts of an old, weather Model A tire and rim as well as an abandoned farmhouse in the middle of a mature cotton field.  Later the same day, I passed this old service station and decided to stop and photograph it as well.  This could be called a typical southern U.S. rural service station and small store that probably went out of business in the early 1970s.

You never know what you will find when taking the small country roads and staying off the main roads.

Thanks for looking. Enjoy!

  1. Dennis, I really enjoyed these. Reminds me of a place near where I live which has, sadly, long since been torn down. How magical to find this still preserved like it was the day it went out of business (with just a little more rust). Like stepping back to a different time.

    1. James, thank you for the comment. Tomorrow I will post a couple of images from the same garage made when I first found it over 10 years ago. Check back. Some things have changed. Dennis
