Tucked in behind the old M.W. Dunn service station is this old 50's model Ford V-8 Pickup and trailer. If the owner still inhabits the trailer wants you to "Keep Out," I feel sorry for him. (click to enlarge)
Olympus E-M1, 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO lens @ 27mm; 1/200ths sec. @ f/6.3; ISO 200 I wanted to not only capture the overall scene, but all the fine detail of the vegetation so I stopped down to f/6.3 to get plenty of depth of field. |
I found this old Ford V-8 pickup truck from the mid-1950s alongside this old, dilapidated silver travel trailer behind the old M.W. Dunn service station in Sussex County, Virginia. If I had just restricted my exploration to the front of the building I would have missed this altogether. Sometimes it pays to examine the entirety of an area, front, back sides, etc., and not just take things at "face value," so to speak.
This was a Silver Efex 2.0 straight conversion using the Wet Rocks preset. I found this particular preset gave this image just the right contrast and detail to make it interesting. Additionally, the truck is green, the pine needles are green and the vegetation in the foreground is green. This preset provided some separation between the different greens, which kept the various tonalities of the image from being muddled together.
Thanks for looking. Enjoy!
