I've seen this old building for as long as I've driven to Virginia's Eastern Shore on U.S. Route 13.  I've wanted to photograph the "Fireworks Cigarettes" sign for years.  A couple of years ago I noticed the business was closed with a "Thanks for 60 good years" hand-painted sign nailed to the building's wall.  Sixty years of selling fireworks and cigarettes.  Wow!  At this point, I want to make a political comment about cigarettes and the effects from smoking but I will refrain as I don't do politics in this blog.

I like finding uniquely places like this.  Once they are gone, they are gone forever and the statement they make about our uniquely American culture is lost forever.
