Sure Signs Of Summer

Summer is here once again.  The sure signs of summer are blue skies, warm weather, swimming pools, beaches, sand, pastel colors and summer vacations!

Recently, my wife and I stayed in the Key West Cottages on Chincoteague Island on Virginia's Eastern Shore.  I was very impressed.  They are really nicely done and very inviting.  Everything about them was terrific and the staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful.  I can recommend them for a pleasant getaway.  Just a note:  I have no affiliation with Key West Cottages.  They didn't ask me nor pay me to make photographs or to say nice things about their property.  I paid for our stay as would any of you.  After being the primary caretakers of my wife's 99 year old mother who passed away in March, I just wanted to share a really nice, relaxing getaway experience my wife and I had with you.

Chincoteague is most famous for their wild
ponies in the National Wildlife Refuge.
You've read many of my posts about being in Chincoteague during the bird migration season in late fall and early winter.  This is the first time I've been to Chincoteague in the summer in more than 40 years.  Too many people in the summer—everywhere!  That said, I will be back to Chincoteague in December.

Summer is not my favorite time of the year but, nonetheless, I'll make the most of it.  I suspect if I lived where it wasn't so hot and humid during most of the summer and I was more comfortable being outside and not feel oppressively hot, I would enjoy it much more.  But I don't.  I recommend no matter what your summer looks like, what the weather is or what there is or is not to do, take advantage of everyday.  Don't waste a single day.

Here are some images from Key West Cottages to give you an idea of how nice and relaxing the property is.

A nice three-day getaway for my wife and me to finally be able to get out and away after being pretty much restricted to staying home to help her mom.  I look forward to more short getaways to share with you.
