I just returned from a 12-day road trip. As I mentioned in a previous post, I took only the OM-1 and 12-100mm f/4 PRO lens. This trip was a good opportunity to compare it to what I took on a 30-day road trip last year—my Nikon Z7II with the 24-200mm f/4-6.3 lens. Although the object of the road trip was not photography, I managed to make almost 600 exposures. I don’t think made any images that are ‘portfolio worthy,’ however, but I did make some satisfying images.
Also, I did not take my laptop. I normally travel with my laptop with my Lightroom catalog and each evening I backup, upload, keyword and take a preliminary look at the day’s photos. Instead I took only an iPad.
Unfortunately, since I’ve returned, I have not had time to fully examine and edit my images nor craft a full write-up for this morning’s post . On Tuesday morning I will post a summary as to how the camera and lens performed, what I think of the quality of images and if I think that one camera and lens met my photographic goals. I’ll also let you know how well the iPad workflow worked for me.
All I will say for now is the combination was light, not very bulky and easy to carry in my small Merrill sling bag. It was no trouble to have it with me at all times..

Thanks for looking. Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteRight after I returned home I came down with some sort of illness that is kicking my behind. I did work on the post a bit today and, hopefully, I’ll have it finished by Sunday if I start feeling better. 😩
