For Rent

For rent.  Interested? (click to enlarge)

Sometimes you serendipitously encounter something that really makes one wonder.  I saw this building in Hydro, Oklahoma along old Historic Route 66.  I can't help but wonder who are the target renters for suites 2 and 3?  Actually, I normally wouldn't associate a structure such as this as having 'suites.'

Also, I wonder about the unusually bland, no-frills, architecture, suite 3's broken plate glass window with a "For Rent" sign and all.  Should I assume they plan on renting this place with the broken window?  Hopefully, not.  As far as the piece of siding that has been removed on the right side, there appears to have been a hole gouged through the wall, but I can't quite tell for sure from the original file.   It looks gouged rather than a smooth cut.  Additionally, it's a bit hard to tell in this photo, but someone has laid roof underlayment over the old asphalt shingles on most of the visible part of the roof.  It appears the underlayment has been in this condition for a long time as the edges are curled up from the hot weather.

Just makes one wonder...

Stay tuned for Friday's post.  I'll have a pleasant surprise for everyone.
