Winter Series Part II

I thought I would dig out another in my old winter series of images made with the Leica Minilux, a wonderful small film camera.

I saw these grasses standing tall despite the weight of the snow and liked the setting, the patterns, texture and how they played against the trees.  As with the previous posted image, this was made using a Leica Minilux with a fixed 40mm f/2.4 lens and Kodak ISO 400 color print film, then converted to black and white in Lightroom.

To me a simple little scene but with all the elements that are pleasing to my eye.

UPDATE: This was originally published without an attached image and in a rough draft state.  I'm not sure how or why Blogger did published it without me manually hitting the 'publish' button, but I wanted to post a note so anyone who may have originally seen it now sees the finished post.

Thanks for looking. Enjoy!

  1. Dennis--

I just tried to post a comment and when I clicked "preview" I got sent to a google page and my message disappeared. So I'm trying again.

I wrote to say that at my end no photograph accompanied either this post or the preceding one on capturing the essence of place in one photograph.

This may be a problem with my computer, which is beginning to act oddly (hard drive getting very full). But just in case it's not, I thought I'd mention it.

    Best wishes.

    1. Walt, couldn't help but notice your e-mail domain. I'm a '74 grad of UK. Always good to see another Kentuckian.

    2. Dennis, only four stars for your image since it involves old icky snow. Great composition just the same.
