Mobile Patriotism! (click to enlarge) |
A couple of weeks ago, I received a call from a city manager of the city in which I spent 24 years and retired as chief of police in 1997. It seems their current chief is retiring and moving out of state and he asked me if I would be interested in serving again as "interim" chief of police. I rarely say no when someone asks for my assistance. I agreed and returned to work yesterday (June 25) for, hopefully, no more than about 6 months. I am not interested in the position on a permanent basis. I'm very happily retired and want to stay that way in the long run. I love photographing and wandering much too much!
The reason I bring this up is that I have been posting three times per week over the past three years and I may not be able to continue with that frequency until this job has been completed. So, if I miss a time or two, you now know the reason.
I do plan to take my camera and a couple of lenses to work with me each day and photograph the men and women of the police department doing their jobs, during the day and at night. I think I can make some very interesting, photojournalistic style images and, due to my position, will have access to areas other photographers do not. It should be interesting.

I will try to post three times a week, but I won't promise.
Many of my images can be found at www.dennismook.com. Please pay it a visit. I add new images regularly. I've just added a gallery featuring all M4/3 images. Soon, I will be adding a gallery of all Fuji X-Trans images. Thank you.
Thanks for looking. Enjoy!
