X-T1, 18-55mm lens @ 18mm; 1.5 sec. @ f/11; ISO 200; variable ND filter (click to enlarge) |
The sky, when I made this image, was lightly overcast with some dappled sunlight in places shining though the forest canopy. All I did was set up my tripod, look through that brilliant EVF, compose, attach the Fader II variable neutral density filter, set my aperture on f/11 to ensure adequate depth of field, rotate the filter to get an exposure longer than 1 second, adjust my exposure compensation to -1/3 stop, set the shutter delay to 2 seconds and pressed the shutter. That was it. No magic needed. The sensor was able to capture all of the dynamic range. The lens is sharp from front to back without serious diffraction limiting. The detail and colors are nicely rendered while representing reality.
How easy can it get? The Fujifilm engineers make things so easy for us contemporary digital photographers! Thanks, Fujifilm!
Many of my images can be found at www.dennismook.com. Please pay it a visit. I add new images regularly. I've just added a gallery featuring all M4/3 images. Soon, I will be adding a gallery of all Fuji X-Trans images. Thank you.
Thanks for looking. Enjoy!
