A Few Black And White Images With My Olympus E-M1

Deadrise, Rescue, Virginia (click to enlarge)
Since I had done some black and white work with the X-T1 last week, I decided to take the E-M1 out over the past couple of days and make a few images with it.  As the name of this blog reflects, I love to go out wandering and looking for images on the backroads, small towns and water's edge.

I will have to say one thing, the combinations of the E-M1 with both the Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8 lens (Ballard's Insurance wall images) as well as the Panasonic 35-100mm f/2.8 (fishing boat images) really captures extreme detail.  In the original image files, viewed at 100%, I could see every stem of every piece of marsh grass very clearly and distinctly as well as every detail in the brick, mortar and wood.  I couldn't be happier.

I started as a black and white photographer and, deep down somewhere buried in my heart, I still am.  As much as I enjoy color, black and white still holds a special place for me.  Over the years, I've come to like a warm-tone black and white over cold-tone, which I preferred when I started.

Thanks for looking.  Enjoy!
