The Coolness of the Ocean's Breeze

This runner was taking a break on a jetty just east of Waikiki Beach.  I suspect she was cooling off with the soft ocean breeze.  This image was made just after dawn as you can see the first rays of sun illuminating her. 

Two things attracted me to make this image.  First, was the light.  I loved the warmth of the light on her contrasted against the cool blue of the southern sky and the Atlantic Ocean.  Second, was her pose.  She almost looks defiant in her attitude toward the ocean.  It is like she is thinking, "I can conquer you or anything!"

In the background on the right, you can see an individual wearing red rowing east across the scene.

Early morning is such a wonderful time of the day.  Too bad many photographers miss it.
