Quick Guide to Choosing a Digital Camera

My images can be found at Dennis A. Mook | Photographer .

A very quick micro guide to choosing a digital camera.

1.  Ninety-nine percent of the digital cameras made today, at every level and complexity of camera you desire to buy, will fully serve your needs and will produce technically excellent images.  Don't worry about which brand or model you should buy.  They are all good.

2)  Since every camera will produce images that will fully satisfy you, make your decision on how the camera feels in your hands, whether or not the controls work well for you, and if you like how the menus are set up.  Feel, tactile response  and a menu system that melds with how your brain's logic works is more important than the technology as they are all technologically about the same.

3)  Buy a brand that most of your friends have so you can borrow and lend lenses with each other, ask and answer each others' questions about the gear and share accessories.

That's it.  You really can't go wrong in today's digital world.

Thanks for looking.  Enjoy!
