Choices. Everything about your life is about choices. From the time you awake in the morning until the time you go to sleep at night, and every minute in between is time you have to make the choices which dictate how you live your life and how you affect everyone around you.
When you awake in the morning, you have a choice of how you will feel about simply getting out of bed and getting on with your day. You can choose to be positive, get up with a smile on your face and proactively face the day with a smile or you can be negative, grump about your day ahead and feel badly all day. Your choice. Optimist or pessimist. Look at the upside or downside. Smile or frown. Its up to you.
You choose what you will wear when you get dressed. Wear something bold or wear something demure. Fit in or stand out from the crowd. Dress up or dress down. Look professional or look sloppy. Be classy or be classless.
You choose how you will greet your family in the morning--with a smile and a hearty "good morning everyone" or silently, with a scowl on your face.
You choose what you will have for breakfast or even to skip breakfast. You can have anything you want from doughnuts to a high quality and nutritious meal. Your nutrition is our choice.
You choose when you will leave your place and, if you work, which way you will drive to work and how you will get there. You choose to be relaxed, drive moderately, stay in the right lane, listen to your favorite radio program or be full of anxiety, road rage and angst, darting in and out of traffic, one lane to the next, cussing and swearing at all the dumb drivers you meet.
You choose how you will greet your co-workers when you arrive at work. You can smile, greet them with some kind words or walk silently to your workplace not speaking or looking at anyone, sitting at your desk alone and isolated.
You choose how you look at life. You can be the optimist, try to see the best in people and situations, be a problem solver, helpful to others and mentor the young or you can choose to hate your life, your work, your situation and your future. You choose to have other people around you or you choose to not have much use for anyone, not even yourself.
You choose whether or not you will do everything you can to achieve happiness, satisfaction, fulfillment and success for you and your family or you can choose to vegetate, never exercise, eat badly, watch TV all the time, lose your friends and do everything possible to ruin your future and ensure that your family is on their own without any help from you.
You really can choose to be thankful for everything you have and for the opportunities presented to you throughout your life or you can choose to be resentful that you don't have everything you want. Not everything you need, but everything you want.
Life is choices, my friend. Everything about your life is a choice you have to make. I hope you take advantage of your ability to make your choices and make the best choices for you, your family and your friends. Some don't have your choices. Make the most of them everyday.
Thanks for looking.
Enjoy!
