Corn Field & Farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania |

There isn't much in life that gets me more excited, inspired, appreciative of life or upbeat than heading out for a road trip, even if for only a long weekend. Life is good!
My wife and I decided to take a long weekend trip to the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area. Her to attend a scrapbooking/stamping convention and me to photograph. Just the thought of taking a photographic road trip makes me smile.
If you have never been to the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area, you are missing a photographic as well as historically interesting treat. The landscape is rolling hills filled with farms. The Amish live in this area and they, in and of themselves, are a wonderful people to get to know. They don't liked to be photographed, but they are realistic as most of them depend on tourism for their businesses outside of farming. There are 29 covered bridges in Lancaster County, most of which are very photogenic. One of the tourist attractions is the Strasburg Railroad. They run a steam locomotive pulling a passenger train all day. There are many places in which to photograph the train along its route. All in all, it is really a wonderful place to visit and photograph.
Today the weather was "picture perfect," pun intended. The sky was a beautiful blue because the humidity was low, there were hundreds of puffy cumulus clouds peppering the sky and the temperature was a nice 84 degrees. Perfect for photography.
I'm traveling light for this trip. I only have my Olympus E-M5 and a few lenses. So far, no regrets in leaving the big Nikons at home. I've been uploading my images to Lightroom each evening and I am very happy with my images so far. I took delivery on a Panasonic 7-14mm F/4 lens the night before we left. I have used it extensively and I am impressed! What a nice lens and it fits my needs perfectly when using this camera.
Wish you were all here with me.
Thanks for looking.
Enjoy!
