Do you have a favorite camera? If you do, what is it about the camera makes it your favorite?
I have three favorite cameras, for three different reasons.
My all time favorite camera has to be the Pentax 6X7 medium format film camera. If you haven't seen one, it looks like a giant 35mm SLR. I carried one around for almost 20 years. The are big, heavy, sometimes awkward to weald and the lenses are big and heavy also. But I loved the images and I loved the way it felt in my hands. We became one. It was almost like I could not take a bad photo with that outfit. The tones from the images were smooth, grainless and the gradation was superb. I sure do miss it. It sits upstairs in my equipment closet...
The second favorite camera is my Nikon D800E. Why? Thirty-six point two megapixels! That computer with a lens produces the finest "negatives" (raw files in this case) that I have ever seen. I can't imagine giving it up.

The third is currently my everyday walk around camera. It is the Olympus OMD E-M5. I love that little camera as it is really fun to use. I love the electronic viewfinder (EVF). With an EVF you can see the resulting image before you push the shutter button. I usually use it on aperture priority and the wheel next to the shutter button controls the exposure compensation function. I can look through the viewfinder (with the histogram in the viewfinder also!) and move the exposure compensation dial to get exactly the exposure I want. No chimping afterward. It is small, lightweight and not overly expensive. The lenses are also. All together, I would say its size and weight are about half of my D800E with lens. It is a joy to carry around.
Enjoy!
Thanks for looking.
