Another Addition To My "Just For The Color" Project

Don't ask.  I have no idea what this is about.  Lol.  These mechanical chickens in this multi-colored
structure was adjacent to a parking lot and behind a restaurant in Kingman, Arizona.  (click to enlarge)

Those of you who are long time readers might remember that, on occasion, I post some images that will join one of my long term projects.  One project, Just for the Color, is updated frequently.  For that project, I will stop and capture images where the subject of the image is the color itself.  I've been doing this for years.

I'm not really project kind of photographer, more of a 'go out and see what I can find' kind of
photographer.  But I have adopted some long term projects, "Water's Edge," where I have documented happenings at the edges of the land and water.  We have a lot of that here in southeastern Virginia.  Another is "Gardens of the Dead," which is about what I've found in many cemeteries, some very old, some new, around the country.  A third is, "For the Love of Railroads," as I have been interested in railroads since a child when my friends and I used to play in the local railroad yard (engineers would allow us to get into the locomotive with them as they did their work!  Never happen today!).  I specifically love steam locomotives.  A fourth is, "What are they Trying to Say? which is about various postings, signs, graffiti, etc.  Lastly, I have a project about "Trees."   If you have any interest in seeing any of these, they can be found on my website.  The URL is at the end of this post.

Here are a few more recent, Just for the Color images.

I found this behind a restaurant.  (click to enlarge)

Inside of a restaurant.  (click to enlarge)

Why the one tan one? Maybe it is the “Executive” model! Lol. (click to enlarge)

John Deere has their iconic green, Allis-Chalmers is orange. (click to enlarge)

This is a 1960s Buick special station wagon.  You just don’t see many of these cars and you
certainly don’t see this color combination.  (click to enlarge)

I find the Just for the Color project fun.  It makes me look at the world a little differently.  Normally, we as photographers, look for subjects that evoke an emotion or have some other kind of visual interest.  With this project, it is just about the colors and nothing more.  The actual subject matter in the images is mostly irrelevant.
