Serendipity.  I define that word as 'an unexpected and pleasant find.’  That’s how I feel about this photograph.

We were visiting the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and were exploring the far northwest part of that peninsula.  It was late in the afternoon when we arrived.  Being so far north, the sun sets a bit earlier this time of year and the afternoon light was beautifully warm.  We stopped in the small town of Calumet, Michigan to see what we could find.

We visited a National Park Service historic museum, walked the downtown admiring the old ornate architecture and when we turned a corner, I saw this.  How could I not photograph it?

I love the light, colors, the architecture, deep shadows as well as the old Ford Ranchero.  This is one of my favorite photographs from the road trip.

There is something to say about PBWA—Photography by Wandering Around.
