Monochrome Monday; Bull Island Wetlands During A Forming Storm

Bull Island, Virginia wetlands. (click to enlarge)

It was a stormy day and I specifically went out to photograph in black & white knowing the sky, clouds and forming storms would make a nice addition to my image catalog.  I drove to Poquoson, Virginia, also known as Bull Island, with the intention of photographing some of the moored white wooden oyster boats known as deadrise boats.  However, as I neared my destination, I saw this scene.

I think what attracted me was the forming storm but still and glassy water in the foreground.  There was no wind.  That later changed but I made several images of these wetlands at high tide with the storm brewing in the background.

For reference, on the other side of those distant trees and vegetation and under those clouds is the southern end of the Chesapeake Bay.
