Walking into the light. Beartown State Park, WV. (click to enlarge) |
Whether you photograph or not, if you are ever in the area of southeastern West Virginia, it is a worthwhile stop to visit Beartown State Park which is located about 19 miles north of Lewisburg (which is another interesting place to visit and photograph) along U.S. Highway 219. It is a unique ecosystem. Very different.
As far as I know, there are no bears in Beartown State Park. From what I have read, the park got its name from the numerous caves that can be found in the park which would make for ideal hibernating habitat for bears. That said, I've been four times and haven't seen a bear yet. But that's me. YMMV.
Thanks for looking. Enjoy!
