Constructed in 1886, Mingus Mill is still in operation, mainly as an educational and historical exhibit for visitors to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  I love these kinds of genuine tourist attractions as one can see and learn directly from them.  

Anytime something of this nature is nearby, I recommend visiting and documenting it.  The next time you drive by it might be gone.
