I made this image while traveling on Interstate 90 in eastern Montana. I was in the passenger's seat and we were traveling about 80mph (130kph). No, we weren't speeding. The speed limit on I-90 in Montana is 80mph.
I was quite taken by the beautiful cumulus clouds and expansive ranchland. When I think of Montana, I think of Glacier National Park, mountains, snow, long, cold winters and its nickname, "Big Sky Country.". What I don't think about is that eastern Montana is relatively flat with some rolling hills and extensive ranchland. It is not too different from what one sees in North Dakota. The geography differences make quite a dichotomy.
Montana is a beautiful state with a diversity of landscapes and always worth a visit for photography.

Fine image. I like this image, and the one with the Sept. 4th post both, in monochrome. The abstraction adds a mystique quality to the image.
