Here's my recommendation and opinion. If you are a photographer and love to photograph nature and are anywhere near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park around the end of October, in other words about now if you are reading this when first posted, I suggest you visit for at least a week. A week is barely enough time to capture all the photographic possibilities.
A few years ago I had the opportunity to visit for a week at the end of October and I found that there were more compositions presented in front of me than I could possibly photograph. Everywhere I turned I saw nature at its finest. Here is a selection of just a few of the images I made on that one trip.
As I said, if you have an opportunity to photograph in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, really anytime, Spring or Fall, it is well worth it.

Great shots. I've never been there but this definitely makes me want to go.
ReplyDeleteThank you. These are from only one part of the park. Many more compositions are available in other parts. I don’t think you would be sorry if you went. But do your homework to get the right months and also miss the crowds.
DeleteGreat photos Dennis.
ReplyDeleteI've been there with a camera in fall and spring. Prefer the opportunities that fall brings, but give me the crowds in the spring. :-)
Beautiful group of images. Fog, dirt road, leading lines, beautiful tree, that is a superb image.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I have a 16” x 24” print on my wall. I don’t think full frame camera would have made it any better.
