Day eight of the Route 66 cross country road trip had us photographing in Tucumcari for most of the morning. There are many ripe subjects if you like old abandoned as well as unique Americana style still in use hotels, signs, old vehicles, colors, etc. I made a number of images I think I'm going to like.
From there, we drove west to Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was a nice day but the wind persisted. Hot also. Luckily, Santa Fe's altitude is much higher than those in Texas so when we arrived the temperature was very pleasant.
We checked into our hotel then decided to drive to the historic district and square in downtown Santa Fe to have dinner. We ate at the Plaza Café, one of the older established restaurants and had a very good meal. We walked around the historic district then headed back to our hotel for our nightly debriefing and planning session.
All in all, a nice day. Not as much activity but we've been so busy, a slow day was appreciated.
The Nikon is still serving me well. I'm glad it was my choice. I've not run into a situation where I needed more than I brought.
Thanks for looking. Enjoy!
