It was a gorgeous morning when we awoke in Oklahoma City.  Finally, we will have beautiful weather, sunshine and low humidity.  The perfect weather to compliment our moods.

I haven’t mentioned it before, but each evening, after checking into our hotel and having dinner, we gather in one of the two rooms the three of us occupy to ‘debrief.’  We talk about the day, discuss what we will do the next day, laugh a lot and just reinforce how fortunate and thankful the three of us are to be able to make this trip.  Every couple of days we also call our fourth friend who couldn’t make the trip with us due to residual Covid-19 symptoms.  We share our day with him and reinforce that he is greatly missed.

On this day, among other things, we stopped in the area of Bridgeport, OK at an old bridge with 38 (if I remember correctly) spans over the Canadian River.  Why so many?  When it was constructed that was the longest the engineering at the time would allow those types of spans to be.

We spent quite a bit of time in two museums, the Route 66 Museum in Clinton, OK and the National Route 66 Museum in Elk City, OK.

Also, we made a brief stop to make a few photographs at the old Lucille's Service Station just east of Hydro.

All in all another interesting and good adventure day! I'm loving this journey!
