For some years now I've been doing a series of images entitled, "Just For The Color."  As is noted in the title, I make the images for the striking colors more than for any other reason.  Some images are more aesthetically pleasing than others, but it is the color that first attracts me.

This image is from Taos Pueblo in Taos, New Mexico.  If you are ever in that area, you must visit the Pueblo.  It is a remarkable place.  Much of it has remained unchanged for hundreds of years.

Walking around through the various dwelling areas, many of the inhabitants paint parts of their homes in bright colors.  The intense teal and red attracted me to this particular door and gate.  By the way, those aren't peppers hanging as you would assume.  They are carved and painted pieces of wood.  Another interesting feature of this particular photograph.

Color, especially eye-catching contrasting and complimentary colors, are everywhere.  Since we are bombarded with color in every direction I think we mostly ignore it in our daily travels.  Make a point of looking for just one color, then as you get used to looking just for color, look for additional colors and combinations of colors.  On one of my work assignments in Hawaii several years ago, I made it a point to photograph only the color red.  When I returned home, I was quite surprised by the number of interesting images I made just with the color red.

On my website I have a gallery of additional images made just for their colors.  If you like this image you will like the ones I have posted here.
