I need a break. With all that is going on in our lives right now—selling our home, planning, discarding, donating, packing, moving, finding floor plans for a new home then finding a builder to build the new home and all that goes with these activities—I need a break. I'm kind of worn out right now. It is one of those times in life when you want all the dominos to fall in the right order. However, most of the time one or more don't. That causes additional stress. A couple of days away would serve me well right now.
Coming just in time is the perfect antidote. This weekend is my annual wildlife and bird photography weekend on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. As this is published I will be on the road. I should stay home and continue with our tasks, but my wife insists I go.

I'm not much of a wildlife and bird photographer. I wish I were better. I use these kinds of short trips as practice to become better. However, this weekend is as much about a group of friends getting together, sharing the experience as it is about photography. These kind of times with friends, to me, is an important part of a healthy life.
We've already discussed safety, social distancing, wearing of masks. We've also checked with the hotel in which we regularly stay in order to be clear on what precautions they are taking to keep guests safe. Each of us has had little contact with others and I feel relatively comfortable that we will be safe together—as long as we act prudently.
Even though this is primarily a wildlife and bird photography weekend, I use the time to wander the backroads, small towns inlets of the Eastern Shore to see what else I can find. Much of Virginia's Eastern Shore is a throwback to many decades ago. Change comes slowly there.

There may not be any blog posts next week. I'll just have to see how much time I will have available. We will actually move next week and it seems that just when we think we have made significant progress, more stuff appears out of nowhere with which we have to figure out what to do! But there will be an ending. We just keep pushing forward.

I wish for all of you to stay safe and, especially, stay sane. Hopefully, I'll be back next week with a renewed vigor and more photos to post.
Thanks for looking. Enjoy!
