I know times are tough and I know in most places travel is restricted but this time of the year, whether in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere, presents us photographers unbelievable opportunities to make images. If at all possible, don't let this pandemic keep you from getting out there and enjoying nature, the color, the crisp autumn mornings, the dew, the fog, clear blue skies and everything else that comes with this time of year in the Northern Hemisphere. That is, if you can do it very safely.
I am desperately trying to figure out a way to get out for a couple of days before the season moves beyond the colorful trees and scenic overlooks. Currently, my wife and I have our daughter, her husband, two granddaughters (7 and 11) as well as their dog living with us for several weeks as they are waiting for their new home to be finished being built. Although I love them being here and wouldn't want it any other way, it sure puts a damper on my photo outings. Still, I need to find a way to get up into the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia, or other such place even for a couple of days where I can enjoy nature and record it with my camera.
