What Did You Do Last Week?

This is not what I did last week.  This is what I watched! (click to enlarge)
No, I personally didn't put on a new roof but I spent most of last week watching a team of roofers re-shingle my home.  My hat comes off to them as they worked 12 hours a day in 85 F (29.4 C) hot, humid, sunny weather to complete the job.  Add that most of my roof has a pitch of 12/12, which means the roof is at a 45 degree angle and my admiration gets higher for their safety, skill and persistence.  When they finished, they thoroughly cleaned up everywhere and it was like they were never there.

The image above is two of the 6 men standing on part of my roof.  Better them than me!

Having a roof re-shingled is a major expense and, as I always do, I researched the the materials, process and roofing companies thoroughly.  It costs much too much to make a mistake and go into this kind of project casually.

I'm all set for many, many years now.  That was the last of my major planned expenses as I make my way slowly (I hope) through retirement.
