Today, in the United States, we celebrate the birth of two of our most important Presidents. George Washington, born on February 22, 1732, was our very first President of the United States and commanded the army of the Colonies through the American Revolutionary War, resulting in freedom from the Mother Country, England.

Well I'm glad to have spent part of this day with your Flag and President's Day posts. Shared the Flag post with my non-photog wife who wrote three children's books on Rev. War. She loved the details.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment. There is a big, beautiful brand new Revolutionary War Visitor’s Center in Yorktown. Maybe they need several copies of your wife’s book on the shelves of their gift shop?
DeleteThanks for sharing this Dennis. I have relatives who live outside Washington D.C., and every time I visit I make time to visit Lincoln Memorial. Reading his words is sure a far cry from what we're hearing today, from either party.
