Sometimes.....

If you spend a moment and study the patterns, shapes and structure of the ripples, they provide an interesting lesson in
fluid dynamics (click to enlarge)

...I find the most mundane things interesting.

I saw this little rock acting as an obstruction in a small stream and was fascinated by the pattern of the altered currents.

Thanks for looking. Enjoy!

  1. Love your image, Dennis--the ripples really pull you through the photo--very nice composition. I like to photograph water every chance I get--water running over rocks, water lilies and lotuses, bugs in water, leaves floating over water, and endless reflections...

    1. Kathleen, thank you. Water does have a special hold on me as well. I live between the 4 1/2 mile wide James River and the Chesapeake Bay with the Atlantic Ocean only a 45 minute drive. I spend a lot of time around the water.
