Because of the way my brain works, I sometimes think about things most others don't. Here is a thought I recently had.
What is the scariest thing or thought you have? Here is mine. Read each sentence, pause and think about its meaning before going on.
You know what you know.
You know what you don't know.
But you don't know what you don't know.
That last sentence is pretty scary to me. Think about it. We have no idea what we don't know.
There is so much that is out there that we don't know, such as knowledge of space and time, what lives in the deepest depths of the oceans, unknown plants that can cure or kill you, what may be living in our closest galaxy neighbor—Andromeda. We don't know what could cause the end of civilization. We don't know what the unintended consequences might be when using the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We don't know what even is around the corner as we walk down the street—it could be a assailant waiting to assault us. It could be an unknown adverse reaction to a common medication we take. It could be a life saving discovery from a common chemical. We just don't know what we don't know.
The thought of not knowing what I don't know is pretty scary to me. But that is just me. I like to be as prepared as possible for future events, but if I don't have any idea what may drive future events, I cannot prepare.
At least if I knew what I don't know, I could prepare, understand, rationalize, decide, flee, rejoice, be thankful and/or remain unconcerned.
It is the not knowing that is scary!
Just another bizarre post of interest to very few.... LOL
Thanks for looking. Enjoy!
