Sequencing Of The Names Of The Fuji X100 Camera Series; Speculation

The other day I read on Fuji Rumors that the new camera in the Fuji X100 line will be announced on January 19th of next year.  Just a month from Monday.  That got me wondering why Fuji used a certain sequence of letters for subsequent models for that camera?

My speculation and the conclusion I reached in my own mind is that the original name picked was X100.  I haven't read this anywhere else, but I would be surprised if someone hasn't already posted this to the internet.

First model:  X100

The next model was named the X100S (S for Second?).

The following and still current model was named X100T (T for Third).

The model to be introduced next month is rumored to be called the X100F (F for Fourth).

Makes sense to me.  Maybe I'm right and maybe not.

The question then becomes the name of the fifth model as the F will already be in use (if rumor holds true), so after the X100F we may see an X200 or an X100F Mark II.

Time will tell.  Too much time on my hands, evidently, and just sharing thoughts.

Thanks for looking. Enjoy!

  1. I don't guess there's a way of translating the Japanese characters for "first, second, etc" into an English sequence so I guess your idea works fine.
