Winter Series; Part V

Here is another of my winter series images from my archives.

I was in Alexandria, Virginia, just south of Washington, D.C. in the midst of a huge snowstorm that eventually dropped almost 24" of snow.  There was so much snow that the Federal Government closed for two or maybe even three days.  That was unprecedented.

As I stood in the bay window of my 12th floor apartment, I spotted this man pull in and park his car, then get out and make his way to his building.  I only may a few images but this has become one of my favorite winter images.

I love the position of the man, the tension, the arm out front, the lean forward and the back leg up to balance the arm in front.  The singular tire tracks break up the mono-tonality of the snow and provides just enough interest and texture.

Thanks for looking. Enjoy!
