The new computer arrived on Saturday. I have been spending the weekend migrating all of my programs and data onto the the new one. This is one tedious and tiresome job.
I suspect I'll finish sometime today and be back to normal operations—I hope!
Now for some good news! As many of you who are long time readers know, I was called out of retirement last June to serve as chief of police in one of the cities from which I retired several years ago. The 3 month job turned into 8 full months. However, I finished up on Friday and I'm fully retired once again. That means I can now dedicate most of my time to my photography once more! I am really looking forward to getting out much more, wandering, exploring and photographing. I've missed my photography.
To be honest, I enjoyed serving once more. As a chief of police, I'm in a position to help others who may not be able to help themselves. To me, my 42 year law enforcement career has been all about being a guardian, community helper and problem solver with enforcement taking a backseat and brought forth only when absolutely necessary. I did feel useful once again. But, it is good to be retired once more as well.
I've already planned four road trips for this year. The first will be in mid-April and I'll blog my way through the trip, giving you updates and images as I have in the past.
Thanks for looking. Enjoy!

Enter the Mac ... migrating computer from one machine to another with all programs and data intact is a matter of letting the Time Machine do its job for 1-4 hours (depending on the amount of data), then switching the computer back on and *poof* everything is where it should be and continues working with exactly the configurations you used before :P
