First Image Of The New Year

I shouldn't have been able to make this image or the other initial images I made this new year.  What does that mean?  It means that I shouldn't have Knockout Roses blooming the first of January in southeastern Virginia!

December was unseasonably warm this past month.  Almost the entire month was above averages in temperatures as well as rainfall (If I remember correctly, December 2014 was unseasonably cold).  Warm, gloomy and wet, that was December 2015 for this area. Not the kind of weather I enjoy.  Hardly any days of sunshine but more rain than we needed. It seemed as though it rained three or more days each week.

Last weekend, I noticed a number of my rose bushes blooming, so I went out and made several quick images with my Fuji X-T1 and 18-55mm f/2.8-4 lens.  That put a smile on my face!  Both photography and natural beauty always does so.

I wonder what the rest of this year will bring?
