What's Better? Fishing Or Catching?

All images made with the Olympus E-M1, 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO lens @ 150mm; 1/1000th sec. @ f/5.6; ISO 200
All images cropped, most to about 1/3 their full size (click to enlarge)
I was parked in a parking lot near the water's edge and this "fisherman" caught my eye.  I watched him wade through the shallow water with his net, I guess, looking to scoop up a fish or two.  Finding this an interesting sight, I decided to make a few images of his "fishing" expedition.

Soon, he tired and stuck the handle of his net in the mud as I think he became a bit frustrated.  I continued to make some images, just watching his movements and expressions of exasperation.

Finding no fish close by, it seems as though the exasperated fisherman is peering into the distance to see if any fish are further out.

Evidently, seeing none farther out, he now looks to see if he can spot any fish to his left.

All this fishing and looking has made him sweat, so out comes his bandana to alleviate the excessive moisture around his neck.

Now laden with sweat, the frustrated fishmen decides to hang up his bandana to dry. Looks like it is going to be a long, very hot and very slow day for him.

Thoroughly frustrated, our fisherman puts his hands to his hips and just waits. I could imagine him thinking to himself, "Come on fish, where are you?"

Finally, I tired of watching him fishing instead of catching and moved on.  But, it was an interesting little photo essay!

As a gear note, I continue to be thoroughly impressed with the Olympus 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO lens.  The images, even though highly cropped, are very sharp and the resolution and detail are extraordinary.

Thanks for looking. Enjoy!
