Booger Red's Saloon in Ft. Worth Texas |
What I found was what looked like a cowboy bar equipped with saddle barstools and all of the other accoutrements that would be expected. I looked around, asked the bartender if she minded if I made a few images, then did so. Interesting place.
In this case, I was using a Nikon D200 with an inexpensive 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 kit lens. The image was shot at ISO 1600, 18mm, 1/20th second @ f/3.5, in other words under really poor conditions especially when you think of the state of digital photography in 2006 when I made this image.
Lesson learned: If you see something that may be interesting, pursue it. Take a chance. Don't pass by. You may find some worthwhile images.
Many of my images can be found at www.dennismook.com. Please pay it a visit. I add new images regularly. I've just added a gallery featuring all M4/3 images. Soon, I will be adding a gallery of all Fuji X-Trans images. Thank you.
Thanks for looking. Enjoy!

Nicely done. Let's see... high ISO (for the year taken), cheap lens, no IS and sort of low shutter speed. Equipment didn't really matter. The composition, lighting and exposure trumps all else. Wish I'd been there :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Peter. I think it looks better on the web that it really is. Also, the man at the bar really didn't like me taking his photograph! I didn't stay long.
