Spam Comments

I really enjoy when readers send in comments.  It opens a dialog not only for us at the time of the post, but also provides valuable information later when others discover posts of interest in this blog.  However, I'm getting way too many spam comments lately, so I have had to enable "word verification."  You know what it is—you have to look at the squiggly lines, figure out that it is a word, then type it in.  I hate to do it, but that may be the only way to reduce spam short of having everyone register.

Again, sorry about this.  A few a day was tolerable, but now I'm getting many, many spam comments and it is taking a lot of time to read through them to understand which are spam and which may be real comments.
