Happy Independence Day America!

Today, in the United States, we celebrate Independence Day.  It was in 1776, that our forefathers decided to take that major step and declare independence from what they believed was the tyranny imposed by King George II of England.  I suspect it took a lot of forethought, conviction and guts to make that move as many in the "Colonies" were just happy as things were.  I don't know how egregious times were and am in no position to judge as I have not thoroughly studied that time in our history.  Times must have been bad to take such drastic measures, beyond just "taxation without representation."

I'm not sure that, today, there are enough individuals in this country who have the fortitude to do the same if necessary.  Times change, I guess.

Happy Independence Day!
