Road Trip from Washington State to Virginia; On the Road Back Home; Days 21 and 22
No images, no photography, nothing interesting, nothing much to report except driving across eastern Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois and halfway across Indiana.
We left the Colorado Rockies yesterday morning in fog and a temperature of about 34 degrees. It was a long, downhill drive to Denver, then east across the Colorado prairies. Then continuing east across flat, flat Kansas. We stayed in Salinas, Kansas and had a nice meal at the Olive Garden Restaurant.
This morning, after another bland hotel breakfast, we continued our journey east on I-70 through the rest of Kansas, across Missouri, through the heavy traffic in St. Louis, then onto Illinois and halfway through Indiana. Tonight, we are spending the night in Evansville, Indiana.
Sorry for the boring and bland post, but the only thing of interest was a really heavy downpour in Kansas. It was about a mile of the heaviest rain I can remember. I could see the wall of water as I drove on the interstate highway. I went from 75 mph (the speed limit) to 40 or 35 mph instantly as I could not see anything as the rain was that heavy. A mile later, it was like someone turned off the fire hose. Dry as a desert!
Tomorrow, we visit Louisville Kentucky.
Thanks for looking.
