Oregon and Northern California Hybrid Road Trip; Day 13

www.dennismook.com

Just a very short post today.  More tomorrow.

Phase III; Visiting Old Friends and Enjoying Wine Country in a Beautiful, Mountain Top Rental Property; Photographing in the Area and Visiting Wineries

I went out just after dawn on this clear blue sky, crisp fall morning to see what I could find that would make good photographic subjects.  I ended up photographing vineyards which were backlit by the morning sun.  Another interesting set of images I made were a field full of industrial sized rotating irrigation sprinklers, which were also backlit.  These were irrigating a new vineyard not yet planted with grape vines.  I will post a couple of the images tomorrow.

The rest of the day was spent visiting some well known local wineries and partaking in some complimentary wine tasting along with enjoying a great hamburger for lunch at a restaurant in Healdsburg, California.

This evening, my three best friends and I, again, sat in the hot tub of this rental house and enjoyed some good conversation.  Last night, and again tonight, the sky was very clear and we were able to see the Milky Way as well as observe several meteors streak across the sky.  Interestingly enough, we also saw several satellites slowly move across the sky.  I can't tell you how long it has been since I have seen the Milky Way with my bare eyes.  Awesome!

I attempted to photograph the Milky Way with my E-M5 using Live Time, but don't yet know how those images came out.  It I was not successful tonight, I'll make the necessary corrections and try again tomorrow night.

As I said, more tomorrow with some new images.

Thanks for looking.  Enjoy!
