American Bison at too close a range! |

What is the most important investment you will make in your photo gear? Also, the most expensive photographic gear you will acquire? Easy. Your lenses. Your lenses have more impact on your photography than anything else except your vision and skill.
I have had the same lenses for years. I have changed camera bodies a number of times, but my lenses transcend all of those bodies. Some of my lenses go back 20 years. Some are newer. But I always buy high quality lenses as my lenses easily are the most expensive pieces of equipment I own. Camera bodies are interchangeable, but lenses really are not.
My advice is to buy the best lenses you can afford as you will keep them year in and year out, changing camera bodies and other gear along the way. Your investment in your lenses will largely dictate what you will be able to do with your photography and the technical result of all your efforts. Your lenses will stand the test of time and technology and will give you images that truly satisfy you. Don't skimp on them.
Thanks for looking.
Enjoy!
