Are you feeling out of sorts? Have you lost motivation to do things? Do you find yourself cranky and moody? Are you not accomplishing anything you set out to do? Well, my friend, Dr. Mook has just the prescription for you! Step away from your computer, get your camera and go out and make some photographs.
I find, that the act of just going out with my camera and the intention of just looking around for something interesting to photograph is a mood enhancing experience. I can't explain it, but if I'm feeling off-center, the cure for me is to go out and make photographs. I go out for a drive in the country, a walk in the city or just set out not knowing where I will end up. Invariably, not long after I set out, I start seeing interesting subjects. Soon I realize I am energized and feeling much better.

Here is an example from today. I have been locked in the house for two weeks with a bad cold which turned into severe bronchitis. As I have now recovered, I had lost motivation to do almost everything, using my illness as an excuse for being lethargic. So, I grabbed my gear and drove the 30 minutes to Colonial Williamsburg and just started walking. Immediately I started feeling energized! I just returned with over 200 images. The best part, I am re-motivated and feeling top drawer!
So, my friend, the good doctor says that photography can be therapy and good medicine. It is up to you whether or not you fill my prescription. But, I'm betting you will be happy that you did. Enjoy!
