Summertime––warm days, lots of sunshine, stormy afternoons and delightful things everywhere to photograph, things that may not be there in the other seasons. Swimming, flowers blooming, boaters, kids playing sports and a lot of other visual eye candy. Here are just a few things I’ve encountered during my daily travels.
Fall is my favorite season. Spring is right behind. Winter is third and summer brings up the rear. I’m not a fan of hot, humid weather but I like it that many happenings abound. That doesn't mean I don't go out to photograph. Always, no matter what time of the year.
Enjoy the visual delight!

| I happened to be walking by when I saw this young man coming toward me. Just pressed the shutter at the right time. Serendipity. (click to enlarge) |

| Now this is 'old school.' Swimming in a small river under a covered bridge. Wow! You don't often see this. This was not staged or a se up. They really swim here. (click to enlarge) |

I just keep my eyes open to my surroundings and I end up seeing a lot of things to photograph. Like the lottery–you have to be 'in it to win it'–and you have to be out there to see and make interesting photographs.

A nice summer collection Dennis. The sky in your bungalow shot is my favorite color of blue sky. I too don't especially enjoy high heat or humidity, or bitterly cold temperatures. But I try to go out as much as possible in every Ohio season and take advantage of whatever Mother Nature is throwing my way (though I am glad I had to be in the office when the Canadian wildfire smoke made it hazardous to be outside last week). - Jim
ReplyDeleteThank you Jim. When I was in college just outside of Cleveland for four years (1969-73), the skies seemed pretty much clouded over all the time. We had nieces on occasion, however. Being from northwestern PA, we had that same issue. As you know the moisture from Lake Erie condensed into a cloud layer when the air moved over NE Ohio on most days—at least that is my recollection. Same thing growing up. Lots of cloudy days. Now, I go out at least once each week, no matter the weather. Sunday afternoon I was out in T-storms photographing small country stores. I’d rather have interesting weather than hazy skies, hot and humid. ~Dennis
