Red. Huge. Motorhome, which is not inconspicuous. Hiding in plain sight maybe? Pseudo-stealth camping? (click to enlarge) |
For some time now I've noticed this rather large Class A motorhome sitting in this field. Seeing it always makes me wonder why it is there? Each time I pass I promise myself that I'll stop to photograph it. Against the advice I've regularly given others, I kept putting it off.
But why would I want to photograph it? First, I've never seen such a large motorhome amateurishly painted red. Second, the idea of a red motorhome sitting in the middle of a field is kind of a unique composition.

The red paint appears to have been hastily and amateurishly applied as it is peeling and fading everywhere. (click to enlarge) |
When I pulled off the road and parked on a dirt area, I looked for a property owner or responsible party to ask permission to enter the property. This lot is part of a business that had what I'll describe as a whole lot of junk and a few old vehicles scattered about. Not seeing anyone (I actually thought the business was closed as I've never seen anyone around or anything change in years), nor any No Trespassing signs, I walked through the field and made a few photographs. As I was leaving, the owner emerged from behind the fence and started toward me. Preemptively I told him what I was doing and he was okay with it. In fact, he said he has the title to the motorhome and wanted to know if I wanted to buy it! I replied that photographing it was enough for me. lol.

A bit too flashy of a color to start cooking meth in, in case you're thinking of "breaking bad."
ReplyDeleteMike, being a chief of police and law enforcement officer for over 30 years, I don’t think it’s in my blood to start cooking meth. That said, when working narcotics in the 1980s, we took down a few. Very dangerous! Thanks for the comment. ~Dennis
DeleteI should have put an LOL in my original comment just so you'd have been sure of my humorous intent.
