Huge Milestone For This Blog; 1,000,000 Visitors!

Today this innocuous little photography blog reached a huge milestone.  Today, the blog reached 1,000,000 visitors.  That, to me, is amazing!  I never would have imagined. I thank each you for coming and visiting.

The power of the Internet as a platform for the free exchange of information is nothing less than astonishing.  I never would have imagined, even 25 years ago, that the Internet could or would blossom into what it now is.  I can't wait to see what is next in technology and information sharing.

This blog is certainly one of the smaller ones.  Bigger than some, but much smaller than the "big dogs." That is okay.  Bigger isn't necessarily better.  Here you can find good and helpful information in an honest and straightforward manner.

In the beginning, I averaged about 25 visitors a day.  Now, three years and one month after I started this blog to document a Route 66 road trip, it has turned into something many seem to find valuable.  That brings much satisfaction to me as I try to create content that is not only interesting but brings value to you as readers.  I try to create content that allows each of you to understand your photography and your photography gear better.  I write for your benefit.  I test for your benefit.  I answer questions for your benefit.  What do I get out of it?  The satisfaction of sharing and helping.

Before retirement, I used to teach at the community college level part-time.  I enjoyed every minute of it.  Especially since those in my class didn't "have" to be there, but "wanted" to be there to improve their education.  In the past, I've taught photography to others, both formally and informally.  Sharing and teaching is a way I derive extra joy from photography other than finding and creating images themselves.  Additionally and unexpectedly, I've come to enjoy the process of writing itself.  Another benefit.

If I continue to get the daily viewership which the blog now has, I'll continue to write and share.

Also, remember, I derive no income from this blog.  You will notice there are no advertisements, nowhere to "click through" to affiliate sponsors.  I don't get any free or reduced priced gear. I don't get any gear provided to me for testing.  I buy all my gear and pay what you pay for it.  That way, I'm beholding to no one but my own honesty and forthrightness.

Thank all of you for visiting.  I am grateful that you find I have a voice that you find worthwhile.  I hope I can create additional content in the future that keeps you coming back.

Thanks for looking. Enjoy!

    1. Howard, thank you for visiting and your kind words. I'm a pretty simple guy and don't have a lot of fancy stuff on the blog so I don't have an RSS feed or any automatic notification that I know of. You may try following the blog and that may automatically advise you when a new post is published. However, I try to publish every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Reminds me of a friend who once told me he was working on earning his second million dollars. He went on to say that he gave up on his first! Onward!

Again, thank you for your kind words.

    1. Rudiger, but I'm the one who is thankful. With me, what you see is what you get. No spin, no making things up, just straightforward writing.

      Thanks for you kind words.
