Photographically speaking, I get to use cameras and lenses from Fuji, Nikon and Olympus every day. All three systems are absolutely first class tools that allow me to photograph anything I desire. Most people don't have the opportunity I have to be able to choose which camera I will take out with me each day. As I said, I'm fortunate. One of the reasons I write this blog is to share my knowledge, experience and what I learn photographically and what I discover using such fine gear, i.e., share my good fortune with others freely.
For my first twenty-five years in photography I couldn't afford more than one camera and a few lenses at a time. Back then, all prime lenses—and not fast primes. I was lucky to have more than one lens. Over the years, I bought and used many cameras but sequentially. I always sold something to buy something else. I couldn't afford to keep what I had and buy more. But I always remained hungry to learn photography and curious as to how other cameras (different formats) would allow me to expand my ability to create differing images.
I got to the point where I could afford a backup body to go along with my primary body. I felt really empowered. As I got older and my career progressed, I became able to purchase more gear. Age, time, success, determination, hard work, planning—all played a part to get me where I am in such a fortunate position today.
Life is good! ...And I'm grateful. Hope you are as well.
Thanks for looking. Enjoy!
