The Mary B and Friends; Reedville, VA (click to enlarge) Olympus E-M1, 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO lens @ 21mm; 1/10th sec. @ f/8; ISO 200; 6 stop ND filter handheld |
I will say it again Whenever I take my Olympus gear out, I seem to bring back nothing but very sharp, highly resolved, beautifully colored and very pleasing images. I handheld this image at 1/10th second, while balancing on top of a piling holding a bulkhead. That in-body-image-stabilization (IBIS) is just unbelievable! I love that little Olympus camera and the lenses are first rate!
(The reason for the slow shutter speed was that I placed a 6X ND filter over the lens so I could blur the water exiting the pump on the right side of the photo)
Thanks for looking. Enjoy!

I would never have thought about blurring the water from the spout. Nice. Likely I wouldn't have even seen it until I got back home and viewed the images on the computer.
ReplyDeleteFunny story—as I was balanced precariously on the pilon, I was really trying to get my composition exactly right. I felt something push up against my leg but didn't dare look down to see what was brushing up against me. Turns out is was a large black lab that came over to me to see what I was doing. He pushed hard enough that, if I weren't standing exactly so, he could have pushed me off. In fact, I had thought about what I would do if I slipped off and fell. My plan was to throw the camera and lens on the grass to my right before I hit the water.
